Lanka Premier League
The Lanka Premier League is a professional cricket league in Sri Lanka in Twenty20 format contested every year by teams named after provinces of
Sri Lanka. Launching an event of that magnitude called for a strong brand identity that reflected the values of the culture of the country.
The lion is the main element of Sri Lankan identity, first seen in the national flag and regional flags and also in other politically and culturally significant locations such as Independence Square and UNESCO Heritage Sites such as Sigiriya and Yapahuwa.
Inspired by the imagery of the Lion the brand identity was created to remind the local and global community of the intrinsic nationality of LPL and the boldness of Sri Lankan cricket which the island has gained fame for.
